Thirteen of our Competition Team Members competed at the 2005 USTF Winter Nationals that were held in Dallas, TX. Our Thirteen Person Team brought back an impressive 34 awards. 21 First Place!!

Thirteen very talented martial arts students from Jeff Serdinsky’s Martial Arts America in Scotch Plains, traveled to Dallas, Texas to attend the 2005 USTF National Championship. Competitors from around the country gathered to test their skills against the best each state has to offer. This years national championship was graced by the presence of Grand Master Nam Te Hi and Grand Master Kong Il Yong. They are the highest ranking Taekwondo grand masters alive today.

The elite competition team from Jeff Serdinsky’s Martial Arts America dominated the competition winning a total of 34 trophies from their 13 person squad. Of the 34 trophies, 21 were first place, 8 were second, and 5 were third. Assistant Instructors Ms. Samantha Grzywacz and Charlie Barber swept their divisions winning double first place each.

Special congratulations to the new 2005 USTF National Champions. Ms. Samantha Grzywacz, Charles Barber, Matt DeSorbo, Mark Drozic, Eric Vollero, Chandler Reeson, Ryan Reeson, and Ron DeSorbo. These athletes won the overall point series over the course of the 2005 year. Their Instructor, 6th degree black belt, Mr. Jeff Serdinsky congratulates his team on their outstanding performance and sportsmanship throughout the event. Serdinsky adds, “These students have devoted a lot of their time preparing for this championship, I am so proud of each of them for truly displaying the value of perseverance and indomitable spirit.”

Mr. Serdinsky was given the honor of performing the opening ceremony demonstration in honor of the grand masters in attendance. This was truly an honor as he was chosen to represent the entire USTF on behalf of its master, Scott McNeely.
